NFL Survivor Toolkit

Since 2017, PoolGenius subscribers have reported winning their NFL survivor pools 2.8x as often as expected, given their pool size. That edge comes from a strategy built around your pool's exact rules, size, and payout structure, not generic advice or just picking the same team as everyone else. Start a free trial through Week 1 and use PoolGenius to optimize your Week 1 pick and plan your path through the season.

But you're here for betting analysis, so let's get to it.

We are approaching mid-August, which means NFL training camps are underway and a full slate of preseason football is just around the corner. Today, we continue our preview of all 32 NFL teams with the Detroit Lions, break down Wednesday's MLB slate, take a look at a couple of WNBA matchups, and give our complete, full card for the BMW Championship. We also have our Future of the Week, and more.

Now is the perfect time to upgrade while the launch price remains just $99 per year (or $9.99 per month).

As a premium member, you'll receive:

  • Wednesday's Midweek Edge
  • Friday's Weekend Betting Guide
  • Complete PGA Tour betting cards
  • Daily NFL and college football picks throughout the season
  • Exclusive betting trends and futures analysis
  • Direct access to me for questions and discussion

We're also planning to launch a private Discord community this fall, and all premium members will receive full access.

Now, let's get to the picks.

PGA Tour playoffs move on to St. Louis

The final two weeks of the PGA Tour season will determine who will claim the FedExCup trophy and check for 2026. The penultimate event is the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, fresh off his dominating win in Memphis at the first playoff event, leads the field of 50 golfers looking to qualify for the Tour Championship next week in Atlanta.

The 72-hole, no-cut event will send the top 30 in the standings to East Lake next week, where the winner will be crowned champion.

We gave out Scottie Scheffler top-5 (-164) as a Best Bet on Monday and are back from more golf today.

All lines are the best of FanDuel or DraftKings

Si Woo Kim to Win in "Without Scottie" Market (+2150 at DK), Top-10 Finish (+166)

  • I can't, won't quit Si Woo Kim. We've been on him a lot this season, with good results, as he has finished in the top 3 in five different events, cashing us plenty of top-10 and top-20 tickets. What he has not done is actually win the event.
  • Bellerive Country Club is long, but retains its parkland-style doglegs. Long iron hitters, especially from 150-200 yards, are perfect for this setup. Si Woo is one of the best long iron players on Tour, as he is third in shots gained on approach overall, leads the Tour in approach from 150-175 yards, and is second from 175-200 yards.
  • Add in the fact that he's sixth in driving accuracy and has gained strokes on the putting green in three of the last four weeks, and Kim is primed to win one of these.
  • However, there is the Scottie Scheffler factor, as we saw last week with Scheffler winning by 8 shots, with Si Woo finishing, yep, runner-up.
  • To guard against another dominating run by the world's top player, we are playing the "without Scottie" market, which means if Si Woo finishes runner-up again to Scheffler, we win our +2150.

Best Bet: ⭐ Si Woo Kim Top-10 Finish (+166). Also playing To Win in "Without Scottie" Market (+2150 at DK)
