NFL Survivor Toolkit

I've teamed up with Pool Genius/Pick Sheet on a Survivor Pool, which is free to play. Prizes will include free subscription to Betting with Bearman newsletters.

Since 2017, PoolGenius subscribers have reported winning their NFL survivor pools 2.8x as often as expected, given their pool size. That edge comes from a strategy built around your pool's exact rules, size, and payout structure, not generic advice or just picking the same team as everyone else. Start a free trial through Week 1 and use PoolGenius to optimize your Week 1 pick and plan your path through the season.

Detroit Lions vs. Buffalo Bills (4.5, 54.5)

  • As the proclaimed "Undertaker", who went 4-0 last week in unders, every fiber wants to take advantage of the 54.5. But with what Joe Brady is doing to the Bills offense and what we saw Week 1 out of both these offenses and defenses, that's a stay away.
  • The lean on the line is laying the 4.5 with the Buffalo, but also aware the Lions offense could very well ruin that late and this could just be a shootout with the last team that has the ball wins.
  • So, we are going to the prop market, where we went 4-1 last week.
  • The Bills were a middle of the road passing team last year, 15th of 32 teams at 216.6 yards per game. In Week 1 under Joe Brady, Josh Allen threw for 334 yards against one of the best defenses in the NFL. Houston's defense was second in scoring and sixth against the pass last year and was thought to be even better this season.
  • Dalton Kincaid had 5 for 130 and D.J. Moore went for 5-100 on 8 targets. Simply put, the Bills offense looked like the one Joe Brady created years ago when he was OC. Now as HC, we saw it all.
