PGA TOUR Hits Motor City

One week after the 3M Open in Twin Cities, we slide on over to Detroit, Michigan for The Rocket Classic. It's the second-to-last regular season event, with the playoffs coming in two weeks.

Although it has been redesigned, the Detroit Golf Club has shown to be a bomb-and-gouge type event with little penalty for wayward drives.

Let's hit the card.

Si Woo Kim to win +2000, Top-10 Finish (+200)

• One of these weeks, we're going to cash a Si Woo Kim outright ticket.
• We've come close already this season, including the CJ Cup, where Wyndham Clark edged him out, and again at the RBC, where Matt Fitzpatrick denied another opportunity.
• Kim enters this week in excellent form after finishes of T-9 and T-6 in the last two events overseas—tournaments where he legitimately had a chance to win.

Statistically, few players are striking the ball better. Kim ranks:

• 3rd in Strokes Gained: Approach
• 4th in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green
• 5th in Total Strokes Gained
• He's gained strokes on approach in six consecutive tournaments and has gained strokes off the tee in all 20 starts this season.
• Detroit Golf Club also plays directly into one of his biggest strengths. Kim ranks 1st on approach shots from 125-150 yards, one of the most common approach distances players face on this course.
• The concern, as always, is the putter. That's been the difference between several close calls and finally breaking through. The encouraging news is that his putting has quietly improved, gaining strokes on the greens in five of his last seven starts, including each of the last two tournaments.

Best Bet: ⭐ Si Woo Kim Top-10 Finish (+200)

I'll also be playing Kim outright at +2000, but as a smaller quarter-unit wager compared to the Top-10 bet.
