🏈 NFL Season Begins in Seattle

New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks (-3, 44.5)

  • I had a little interest in the spread at +3.5, but now that it's down to 3, we will skip that and go to the total.
  • The Patriots and Seahawks finished with two of the top four scoring defenses in the league last season, with Seattle at the top and the Patriots fourth, allowing 18.8 points per game. 
  • Among the many top defensive stats for the Super Bowl champs, they also finished as No. 1 in the DVOA defensive rankings per FTN and are projected second this season behind the Rams.
  • While the Patriots were second in the NFL in scoring last year (28.8 PPG), they did not face a single defense that finished in the top 12 of points allowed during the regular season.
