Happy Friday! I'd like to welcome all the new subscribers, as we had a record month of sign-ups! Hope you all enjoy the newsletter!

We got off to a great start on Thursday night, hitting the Bears -3, which led from the first drive through the rest of the game. That moved us to 14-2 in primetime games this season and 47-27 overall in the NFL.

Today, we have a full NFL Week 7 and CFB Week 8 card, with some Friday action tonight and a full board for Saturday and Sunday. We also take a look at the World Series, which gets underway tonight, and NBA action.

NFL Survivor Toolkit

I've teamed up with Pool Genius/Pick Sheet on a Survivor Pool, which is free to play. Prizes will include free subscription to Betting with Bearman newsletters.

Since 2017, PoolGenius subscribers have reported winning their NFL survivor pools 2.8x as often as expected, given their pool size. That edge comes from a strategy built around your pool's exact rules, size, and payout structure, not generic advice or just picking the same team as everyone else. Start a free trial through Week 1 and use PoolGenius to optimize your Week 1 pick and plan your path through the season.

Ole Miss at Texas (-3.5, 53.5) - Saturday

  • Texas is headed in the wrong direction. The Longhorns were ranked No. 1 just a few weeks ago but have lost consecutive games to Oklahoma and Florida. Ole Miss has bounced back from its loss to Florida with consecutive wins over Vanderbilt and Missouri by a combined 63 points.
  • The Texas offense has fallen off significantly in SEC play. The Longhorns are averaging just 305.3 total yards and 22.7 points per game over their last three games, compared with 417.3 yards and 37.7 points over their first three contests.
  • The Longhorns have gone three-and-out on an SEC-high 34.3% of possessions and converted just 8 of 36 third downs (22.2%) in their three conference games. That creates opportunities for Ole Miss to control possession and get extra scoring chances.
  • On the other side, the Rebels average 37.5 points per game (20th nationally) and 444.5 yards per game (36th). They've scored 83 points and averaged 453.5 yards in their last two wins.
  • In the 10-game ranked-opponent sample, Chambliss is 7-3, averaging 304.4 passing yards with 17 TDs and just three INTs. He's thrown for at least 240 yards in every game in that sample, including at least 277 in each of last season's three CFP games.
  • Arch Manning has been sacked 13 times in three SEC games, including five against Florida last week. Texas is also averaging just 94.0 rushing yards per game over that stretch, making it harder to keep opposing defenses honest.
